An Absolute success in Liverpool proves North West credentials for go-fm
27.01.2005 Absolute Radio, currently bidding for the Manchester FM license as go-fm, is celebrating its impact elsewhere in the North-West with the announcement today of the latest RAJAR figures for Juice FM in Liverpool .
Juice FM, Liverpool 's second largest commercial radio station, has shown a 9% increase in total audience - a jump from 180 000 to 197 000*.Market share increased 22.5% from 4% to 4.9%*.
This is in fact the second consecutive increase in Juice's RAJAR figures and the largest advance by any radio station in Liverpool this quarter. This signals the best ever market share result in Juice FM's RAJAR history.
With the smallest ever gap between Juice FM and the current largest commercial station, Radio City , these RAJAR figures are a statement of intent for go-fm to fill a hole in the Manchester market.
Clive Dickens, Absolute Radio's Group Operations and Programming Director said, “The figures for Juice FM prove we have the knowledge of what the local audience wants and the ability to translate that into great programming. Through go-fm we are committed to bringing a fresh new adult music alternative and we know there is the demand to bring better commercial radio to another underserved audience in the North-West.What we say we will do on paper we deliver in practice. |
